NUGGETS

I just watched a little YouTube segment on meeting your soul mate, as always, looking for that perfect nugget of advice that will make it all clear to me. Turns out, that’s exactly what just happened, only it wasn’t the nugget I was expecting.

As I’m watching, it hit me – the nugget! If I was with my soul mate right now, I wouldn’t be blogging to you lovely ladies about the trials and tribulations of my insane brain and its desire to be with a man. And I LOVE blogging about this topic.

I also wouldn’t have created a web series that debunks the baloney we’ve been told about men and relationships. How LAME would that be to not have that kind of programming out in the universe?

I simply do not think I would have the passion (some may say obsession) create greater love, unity, joy, romance and magic between the sexes. And I’m realizing, that is all I care about. Me! The career girl who when asked “Would you rather be with the perfect man and be a total failure in your career?” or “Would you rather be a huge success in your career and be alone for the rest of life?” would always choose the latter.

(Yes, I know, neither of these is an appealing option and the fact that this even exists as an “either/or” situation is a horrifying trap in my opinion – talk about a way to freak a girl out?!)

I realized right now I have opportunity to explore who I am as a writer/empower-er of women in a way I probably wouldn’t do if I was in the “perfect” relationship.

So while I know I am committed to having an amazing partnership with a man, I know that right now being single, experiencing my life and the world from this vantage point gives me loads of inspiration and material!

Gold nugget, chicken mcnugget or a clarity nugget, I’ll take ‘em where I can get ‘em!

That’s awesome! Things unfold the way they’re supposed to and once you find that right person, it won’t be the finish line; you’ll have loads of new questions about relating to the opposite sex so we’ll NEVER run out of reading material! Yay!
